Self Care with Tools
Massage therapists spend their careers caring for others, yet often neglect their own physical wellbeing. This lecture and interactive hands-on workshop explores practical self-care strategies that can be easily incorporated into daily practice and will ideally reduce the risk of injury, enhance personal wellbeing, and support a longer, healthier career in the massage profession.
The main areas of attention are for the practitioner's own hands, thumbs, wrists, and upper body.
Participants will learn how to effectively utilise self-treatment techniques with tools such as the T-Bar and The Big Thumb to address common areas of muscular tension, fatigue, and occupational strain associated with massage practice. Through guided demonstrations and practical application, attendees will gain hands-on experience using these tools to assist with muscle release, trigger point work, mobility, recovery, and maintenance of physical function.
