SIT offers massage qualifications at Diploma and Bachelor level. All our courses are NZQA accredited, and ZERO FEES apply to domestic students.

Massage therapy is a rewarding career, with the flexibility to work as part of a team in a multidisciplinary clinic or running your own business. Massage therapists promote health and well-being by helping clients to relax, improve physical performance and treat musculoskeletal dysfunctions.

Student centred massage education has been at the heart of what we do. Massage therapy is a unique combination of using our hearts, hands and heads to provide the best outcome for clients. Massage tutors at SIT understand this and are highly qualified holding degrees, Master’s and PhD’s. Tutors remain current through research and appreciate the demands of studying to become a massage therapist.

We offer a fully distance learning programme for the Bachelor in Therapeutic and Sports Massage (BTSM) Year 3 and a HyFlex/Blended Delivery (distance learning) option for the BTSM Year 2 / NZ Diploma in Remedial Massage Level 6. This programme has three compulsory on-campus block weeks in Invercargill for approximately 5-7 days. For further information please email Donna Smith.
