Fibromyalgia: from trigger points to chronic primary pain
Chronic widespread pain (aka fibromyalgia) has a messy history. Although identified from the 1800s, the diagnostic criteria have changed several times, and it has been called a ‘contested diagnosis’.
This workshop will review history, aetiology, pathophysiology and diagnosis for this chronic primary pain condition. Evidence-based management will be discussed, along with clinical implications for massage therapy practice.
