Empathy and Non Violent Communication
How do we contribute to pain and suffering?
Together, we will explore the ways we have learned to respond to painful relational experiences in ways that can unintentionally perpetuate disconnection and suffering. With honesty, compassion, and a little humour, we will look at the habits and patterns many of us have inherited through education, culture, and colonialism—some subtle, some obvious.
· Explore how empathy can strengthen resilience.
· Understand how acknowledging impact can ease suffering.
· Build greater collective capacity for resilience and connection.
We will also begin training our attention to turn toward what we most deeply want for ourselves and for one another—toward what truly matters.

As a certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) trainer and somatic coach, she brings together deep empathy, practical tools, and embodied movement to support resilience and lasting change. |
With more than 30 years of experience supporting people from all walks of life—from boardrooms to prisons—Susie is passionate about helping people recognise painful patterns that can lead to suffering and disconnection. Rather than letting discomfort become part of the “landfill of life,” she invites people to work with it as compost: something that can nourish growth, healing, and deeper connection. As a certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) trainer and somatic coach, she brings together deep empathy, practical tools, and embodied movement to support resilience and lasting change. Her approach is compassionate, grounded, and down-to-earth, meeting people exactly where they are while supporting them to unlearn what no longer serves, deepen self-awareness, and build more meaningful relationships. Susie also offers one-to-one coaching online via Zoom. If you would like personalised support, you are welcome to contact her at susie@wisecommunication.nz. She especially enjoys working with couples and with people who feel that joy has left the building, helping them reconnect with themselves and with one another. |
